twitter == IRC?

The similarities between twitter and what IRC is look plentiful, even down to the #channel.

The open nature of IRC would have been ideal for tweets. Will it swing back from having a single company running the single biggest chat network in the world?

GNU + Linux on netbooks too little too late?

Three years have now passed and there are even less GNU+Linux netbooks and notebooks than there were when the Asus Eee 700 first launched!

Microsoft have got organiseed and caught up with Windows7, has this missed the golden opportunity which presented its self back in 2007 and 2008?

The big competition appears to now be in the mobile area, where at least Google's Android is doing well, making easy gains against Symbian mostly.

Time to fix Sale of Goods Act to cover electronic purchases

The Guardian covers how electronic purchases are not covered by the Sale of Goods Act, and therefore can't be returned if they don't work (remember buying that DRM'd AAC file from iTunes music store by mistake..!?)

Sale of Goods Act needs to be updated to cover electronic goods, as well as tangible physical goods.
