Fix Galaxy S3 Weather update

Galaxy S3 weather stopped updating. I found 'Determine location using wireless networks' was switched off. Check this is enabled ;-)

Sustrans should support safer cycling with helmet to prevent head injuries

A good report by Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents about why helmets should be worn on cycles to prevent head injuries

Quotes which respond to common excuses for not wearing helmets:

"there is no scientific evidence that mandatory cycle helmet laws discourage cycling"

"there is no scientific evidence that cyclist who wear helmets take more risks"

I call on Sustrans to take a modern, responsible view as per guidance of BMA and other rational scientific evidence. It is inexcusable to cause more head injuries by Sustrans going against the helmet trend. It is the same as saying not to wear seat belts in cars, or a ski helmet while skiing. Ask any school if they recommend helmets, and they will also say the same.

Forbid chewing gum in UK

Walking along Oxford Street and through Leicester Square I see so much used chewing gum on the pavement and road. It looks horrid! The crossing WAIT signs are covered in it too.

Educating people to bin it doesn't work. Like Singapore - time to forbid the sale of it.

Eben Upton MBE

Considering the contribution to schooling children in computers and programming shouldn't Eben Upton be awarded an MBE for the Rasberry Pi project?

The rush of ticket sales

Just got tickets for Coldplay.. stuck on the phone, hitting refresh on the website.

What they should do, rather than have this mad rush - change it to be a registered lottery. So we get 2 days to register our card details and addresses. Then they run the lottery programme and announce the results.

The current rush just rewards those with multiple laptops, phones and friends to help!

Wimbledon already operate by this system.

Secure PGP gmail and yahoomail

I get asked by so many businesses to email me them a colour copy of my passport and bank statement. That's a big security risk, as email is just like sending a postcard (anyone can read it, in transit).

What we need is for GMail, YahooMail and others to all quickly adopt PGP, come on guys!
