WikimediaUK Insecure personal details aquisition

After donating on 19 Nov I noticed Wikimedia UK form was insecure for "UK Gift Aid" records. I've submitted my personal details in the clear! oops WikimediaUK.

The URL to watch out for:
http://donate.wikimedia.org.uk/thanks-gift-aid

This isn't the first time they've fessed up

I've emailed WikimediaUK several times, but no reply. So I don't know if they are still trading...?

My sincere apologies for us not getting back to you quicker about this problem, and thanks for pointing it out to us.

The server is secure when you visit https://donate.wikimedia.org.uk/thanks-gift-aid (i.e. https rather than http); unfortunately it seems that the wrong link was embedded in some of the fundraising landing pages (the page you see after you click on a banner). I've now fixed this error, and after making a donation everyone should now end up on a secure page.

For future reference, the best way to contact us about donation page issues is at fundraising@wikimedia.org.uk - that address is regularly checked by our office administrator, Richard Symonds. Or you can contact Jon Davies, our Chief Exec, at jon.davies@wikimedia.org.uk .

Many thanks for donating to Wikimedia UK - and I hope you have a great christmas and new year.

Thanks,
Mike Peel
Trustee, Wikimedia UK
